DURATION

According to Royal Decree 99/2011, full-time training will last for three years from the time the doctoral student is admitted into the programme until the doctoral thesis is presented. The Doctorate Programme Academic Committee (CAPD) may authorise a one-year extension, which may be extended for a single year more in exceptional cases.

Part-time training will last for a maximum of five years from admission into the programme until the doctoral thesis is presented. An extension of two years may be authorised, with a single additional year in exceptional cases.
