LABe - Digital Gastronomy Lab lies at the intersection between gastronomy and digital transformation. It will be managed by the Basque Culinary Center and is part of Etorkizuna Eraikiz (Building the future), an initiative of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, in collaboration with the Basque Government and the City Council of Donostia-San Sebastian.
LABe - Digital Gastronomy Lab will be a platform for co-creation, exploration, experimentation and validation of new concepts, products, services and experiences, with technological and digital components, in the gastronomy and catering sector. It will bring together start-ups, industry and users. It has been created with the aim of contributing to the active design of the future of the gastronomy value chain by catalysing the digital transition of the sector.
LABe will have two floors and an area of 1,400 square metres, which will house a research laboratory for prototyping, an accelerator of new technology-based companies and an advanced 4.0 restaurant where experiments involving new technologies will be carried out.
The LABe - Digital Gastronomy Lab project will be part of BCC Innovation, the Basque Culinary Center’s research centre, and will be located in the prism of Tabakalera (the structure that crowns the building of this centre of contemporary culture), in Donostia-San Sebastian. Its aim is to become a leading international laboratory specialising in the digital transformation of gastronomy.
