New course to foster the love of gastronomy

For those who are passionate about cooking, enjoy selecting the best products, or looking for the ideal recipe for that special celebration, or would like to master cooking techniques to apply them in their daily lives, Basque Culinary Center, through its space for gastronomy enthusiasts, BCC Culinary Club, offers you a new Advanced Cooking Course. Cooking and gastronomic culture is increasingly one of the passions of a large part of the population, which is why the Faculty of Gastronomic Sciences of the Basque Culinary Center now offers the opportunity to learn, through an innovative methodology, to cook this un unique environment, acquiring new knowledge and improving professional cooking techniques from a global approach.

Registration for this new course, which will start on January 10, 2025, is now open, and it is not necessary to have prior culinary knowledge to sign up, just desire and passion for cooking. The training will only offer a maximum of 16 places and will last three months. It will consist of seven face-to-face sessions - Fridays from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. - and six online classes lasting 1 and a half hours each - Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m-. All participants will learn to prepare traditional recipes and also for special occasions, since, among many other things, they will receive knowledge about food pairing, extra pills on food preservation or nutritional benefits, sessions on the importance of the temporality of products and They will learn to present or decorate dishes in a creative way. Without a doubt, they will learn about the latest trends in gastronomy thanks to the advice of the professionals who will teach this new course where they will use the “learning by doing” methodology. 

Extensive program of activities

This course is added to the rest of the activities that the Basque Culinary Center offers for both young people and adults who are fond of gastronomy. For example, for autumn 2024, courses, workshops and seminars have already been scheduled so that people of all ages can enjoy cooking in the same facilities of the Faculty of Gastronomic Sciences. Among other things, they will learn rice, grills, pintxos, grandmother's recipes, international cuisine, and even discover the authentic flavor of the dishes of the Basque Country.
