Culinary Biotechnology Researcher

Do you want to be part of an international pioneer institution in the world of Gastronomy and its value chain? Are you interested in the interaction between science and cuisine? Then this project is perfect for you!  

You will be in charge of the development of the microbiology laboratory and the execution of innovation and research tasks and projects in the field of microbiology and gastronomy, being your main mission:  

  • Develop the line of knowledge associated with the use of microorganisms in the culinary field.  
  • Identify and foster valuable institutional relationships (with companies and other research centers) in the field of microbiology and cuisine.  
  • Collaborate in the design and development of ingredients with the culinary innovation area. 
  • Expand the technological capabilities of the laboratory: manage the materials and needs of the microbiology laboratory. 

Your day-to-day work will consist of:    

  • Design and approach of projects in the field of culinary biotechnology. 
  • Coordination and management of projects, documentation, interaction with the team and client relations.  
  • Interaction with clients for the presentation of proposals, results, etc.  
  • Support in multidisciplinary projects developed in parallel by different teams of the Center.  
  • Participation in ideation of new ingredients and product development.  
  • Identification and attraction of potential customers.  
  • Contribute to the development of the Center's value proposition.  

Requirements

Do you identify with the following characteristics?   

  • You have a PhD in Gastronomic Sciences, Food Science and Technology or similar.  
  • You have 3-5 years of experience managing projects in the area of microbiology.    
  • You have knowledge of the main traditional techniques of microbiological analysis and molecular biology.  
  • Knowledge of advanced laboratory techniques.  
  • You stand out for your interpersonal communication skills, as well as for your leadership and self-management skills.  
  • You have an advanced level of English (C1).  

You will make a difference if:    

  • You have experience working in innovation ecosystems.  
  • You have scientific-technical knowledge applied to the kitchen.    
  • You have high interlocution skills in Basque (C1).    
  • You have worked with multidisciplinary teams in dynamic and changing environments.    
  • You have an official disability certificate equal to or higher than 33%.
